Get involved
PITHIA.ai is being developed by NHS clinicians and researchers as service infrastructure for donor kidney biopsy review.
We are inviting clinical and service partners to help refine the workflow, measures, and governance needed for safe, rapid review.
For consultant pathologists
We invite consultant histopathologists and senior trainees to contribute to de-identified reference material and verification data.
Work may include structured tasks such as:
- marking glomeruli
- outlining fibrosis/IFTA regions
- confirming agreed ground truth on a small set of reference slides
Feedback on the interface, workflow, and measurement outputs helps us make the service workable in real conditions, including out-of-hours review.
For healthcare organisations
PITHIA.ai is designed around a common service constraint: limited specialist availability within a narrow clinical time window.
The service manages the chain of custody for digital slides and reports, linking image, reviewer, and recipient team with a clear audit trail.
If your organisation (NHS Trust, transplant programme, or research group) faces similar needs for rapid, traceable review, we invite collaboration. Partnerships can focus on service design, integration with local workflows, and extending the verified review loop to other organ services once the renal pathway is established.
Service posture
This work is service-led. We aim to build tooling that is transparent, auditable, and appropriate for clinical governance.
